Vauxhall Corsa MOT problems — most defects are owner neglect, not bad luck
Published 7 June 2026 · Free read
Of 2,160,428 defect lines on 5–10 year Corsas, maintenance-related issues dominate.
The Vauxhall Corsa is one of the UK’s highest-volume used hatches. At 5–10 years it posts an 82.2% pass rate across 1,655,351 tests.
When defects are split by category, owner neglect — bulbs, wipers, tyre condition, fluid leaks caught late — accounts for the largest share.
That is a buying signal: many Corsa MOT failures are preventable with basic upkeep, but a neglected car at sale may need a refresh before the next test.
