Refund Policy

1. Who processes payments

Payments for CARMOTIQ credit packs and subscriptions are processed by Paddle.com as merchant of record. Your card or wallet statement may show Paddle or the product name. Paddle handles tax, invoicing, and payment disputes in line with their buyer terms.

2. What you are buying

You purchase prepaid make/model MOT research creditsfor aggregated UK MOT statistics (Compare, Analytics, Buyer's Dilemma, Brand Matrix). This is not a registration-based individual vehicle history check. Credits are digital entitlements with a limited validity period — see our Terms (section 6).

3. Credit expiry

Each grant of credits (each one-time purchase or each subscription billing period) must be used within 30 calendar days of the date that grant is recorded. Unused credits after expiry are forfeited and have no cash value, except where mandatory UK consumer law requires otherwise. Expiry is shown on the pricing page before checkout and in our Terms.

4. When refunds may be given

  • Duplicate or erroneous charges — contact us with your Paddle receipt and we will work with Paddle to correct the charge.
  • Technical failure — if payment completed but credits were not applied and we cannot restore them within a reasonable time, we will refund or grant equivalent credits.
  • Unused credits within the validity window — if you have not used any credits from a grant and request a refund within 14 days of purchase, we will consider a full refund in line with UK consumer rights for digital content. Partially used packs are generally non-refundable.
  • Subscriptions — you may cancel future renewals at any time via Paddle. Cancellation stops future charges; it does not automatically refund the current billing period unless required by law.

5. When refunds are not available

  • Credits that have already been consumed to generate reports or tool sessions.
  • Credits that have expired after the 30-day validity period.
  • Change of mind after substantial use of the service during the validity window.

6. How to request a refund

Email us at the address below with your Paddle transaction ID, the email used at checkout, and the reason for your request. We will respond within 2 business days. Approved refunds are processed through Paddle to your original payment method.
