Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 31/07/2026

CARMOTIQ is operated by DevBoostPlugins, a trading name of Switchview Design Ltd.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the CARMOTIQ service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Commercial rights and operator

The CARMOTIQ service is made available to you by DevBoostPlugins, a trading name of Switchview Design Ltd. The platform software is provided under licence from Switchview Design Ltd for commercial operation. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of underlying software or data sources to you; your rights are limited to use of the service as described here.

3. Description of Service

CARMOTIQ provides aggregated MOT test data, comparisons, and analytics at make and model level to help you make informed purchase decisions. Data is sourced from official UK MOT records and presented for informational purposes only. The service does not provide registration-based vehicle history checks.

4. Limitation of Liability

The service and data are provided "as is" without warranty of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose. We do not guarantee that the data reflects the current condition of any vehicle. You use the service at your own risk. Our liability is limited to the amount you have paid for the service in the 12 months preceding any claim.

5. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, losses, or damages arising from your use of the service, your breach of these terms, or your misuse of the data.

6. Prepaid credits, searches, and expiry

When you buy credits, you are paying for a limited number of make/model research reports on CARMOTIQ. Credits are not a permanent balance and do not roll on indefinitely.

In short: your credits and access to the searches you run expire one month after purchase (30 calendar days from when payment completes) if not used. You can buy more credits at any time — they are added to your account, and each purchase has its own one-month use-by period. Full expiry terms are set out in this section; we do not show a live countdown banner in the product header.

  • Each completed purchase (or subscription billing period that issues credits) is a separate grant. Unused credits from that grant expire at the end of the 30-day window. Expired credits have no cash value and are not transferable.
  • Access to research you have already run is tied to your active credits. When a grant expires, unused credits and the ability to reopen those paid searches under that grant end. We do not provide indefinite storage of your personal search history or report results on our systems.
  • If you buy an additional credit pack while you still have credits remaining, the new credits are added to the same account (linked to your browser session or recovered email). Your existing credits keep their original expiry dates; the new pack keeps its own.
  • Credit pack validity is 30 calendar days from purchase (or from each subscription credit grant). Expiry dates may also appear at checkout and in purchase confirmation emails. If anything appears inconsistent with these Terms, these Terms take priority.
  • If you cannot see your credits, use Recover credits with the email from checkout to link your purchase to your current session. Recovery does not extend the one-month window.

7. Service availability and changes

CARMOTIQ is a live online service. We may modify features, perform maintenance, suspend access for technical or security reasons, or discontinue the service (in whole or in part) where necessary — including if the business is no longer viable.

  • Your entitlement is to use prepaid credits within each grant's one-month window (30 calendar days) while the service is available. It is not a perpetual licence, stored balance, or guarantee that the platform will remain online indefinitely.
  • After a grant's expiry date, unused credits from that grant end whether or not the site is still running.
  • If we plan extended maintenance or closure, we will use reasonable efforts to give notice on the website where practicable. We are not obliged to keep the service available after published expiry dates for individual credit grants.
  • Payment refunds (where applicable) are handled by Paddle under our Refund Policy; this section does not limit mandatory consumer rights that apply through Paddle.

8. Payment and Refunds

Payments for subscriptions and one-time credit packs are processed by Paddle as merchant of record. Refunds are handled by Paddle in accordance with our Refund Policy (which mirrors Paddle's buyer refund policy). To request a refund, use the link in your Paddle receipt or visit paddle.net. Paying for credits does not extend the usage period in section 6 beyond the stated expiry window.
